Chapter One
College Admissions Coaching
Before we talk about schools, let's talk about your student
Most families come to this process asking "what schools can my student get into?" I'd rather start somewhere else — with who your student is, what lights them up, and what they want from the next four years.
As a writer, parent, and school counseling professional, I believe the college process works best when the student goes inward first. Self-knowledge leads to better lists, stronger essays, and decisions that actually feel right.
Go inward to go outward.
Growth opportunities are everywhere - in a student's community, school, and existing relationships. We don't need to manufacture a resume. We need to find the real story.
